Chapter four was fascinating! I've noticed that many lesbian feminists of the 70s and 80s were Jewish, just by their last names alone, but I had no idea about how prominent they were in the music festival scene as well.

It’s crazy to think about a time pre-internet where women had to make connections through music festivals, women’s bookshops, etc. Morris comparing those venues and locations to being their ‘Facebook’ definitely put it into perspective. There’s so much access of knowledge at our fingertips that we take for granted.

Fascinating first chapter on womyn's music festivals of the 70s and 80s. The erasure of the grassroots beginnings of lesbian folk and rock artists and bands and the lasting impact and influence they had on so many more contemporary artists is devastating, and sadly unsurprising.
