I really don't understand a romance where we see the future love interest with other women. Why doe people love this!?

And we see ANOTHER woman with him!? I'll give this a little longer but I'm not very hopeful for this book.

He's calling her "buddy"!?

Why do authors do this? Why do men call women buddy? It's weird. Especially when there's some attraction.

If this is the hero, I am not interested. He is mean. He had to have dated this woman.
