Decided to just not finish The Return. Apparently Conrad himself thought this story was horrible, and regarded it has his worst work. Read the first half of the fifth and final short story, The Lagoon. It's pretty short, and I probably could have finished it in one sitting, but I just didn't feel like it. The Lagoon is instantly more entertaining, being another of Conrad's colonial adventures, in Malaysia again.

Started reading the fourth short story, The Return. This is the first story not in a colonial setting, this time being in the West End of London. I don't care much for romance-based plots so we'll see where this one goes. This is the longest story by far, at about fifty pages, and I'm a little worried it will remain boring the rest of the way through.
