Caine got his boat then a kid went over the side and drowned and no one did anything about it. So Zil and his crew are planning on trying to blame it all on Caine. Orsay is losing her mind. Caine and them made it to the island.

Sam has fiable Brock after everything and everyone’s acting like he’s been through nothing like he has no reason to be acting like this but he has finale realized that the only way to stop people like Zil, Caine and Drake is to kill them once and for all otherwise they will just keep doing what their doing.

Zil has gone CRAZY setting house one FIRE while he is helping Caine sneak under Sam and the “counsels” noses. The Darkness is defiantly in Brittney’s. I think Justin and Roger are going to die from the fire that Zil(🔪)started. If they die I petition that we kill him and his followers like that should have happened a while ago but Astrid the so called “genius” and her want for laws told Sam not to.

OK I am sooooooo done with Astrid like for some reason she is always on Sam’s case and I understand why Sam blows up when he does and he doesn’t even do it as much as I would except it to be with the way she treats him. Like can we get rid of her already.

Zil is on something saying he’s going to burn the town down like what the hell does that even mean. Is the Darkness in Brittney too either that or she was knocked hard on the head cause she not thinking right.

Ok I think everyone’s having a mental break now because Sam’s going crazy from his PTSD I swear. I feel so bad for him😭 he’s literally my favorite character and he just keeps getting worse .

Britney’s definitely alive - zombie? The Darkness isn’t dead it’s in lil Pete’s game. or head? Lana is becoming like her mom lol - an addict drunk and high saying that the Darkness never died never left and that it continued to use her to heal someone….something.

Well Brittney’s alive

We meet a new group of kids on the island that Caine plans on going after - Sanjit, Virtue, Bowie, Peace and Pixie. They’re trying to get off the island but they don’t know any other way than a helicopter which could get them killed. Astrid’s still pissed about the fight with Sam and Drake might not be dead after all. Could the arm that was warped around Brittney have like revived itself and Drake?

Introducing this new arc of characters in this book has like a bit of filler to me, and slows the pace down. Even something as potentially gripping as an amateur trying to fly a helicopter without the proper formal training (hindered even more with bad use, or even lack of, punctuation) feels like a boring shark jump. Probably not 5 stars. Still best in series so far though :)

Sam and Astrid had the SAME fight AGAIN🙄. Lil Pete is still playing his game even though it’s basically dead. The Jack kid went to his house because he remembered where he lives(he’s 5yrs old) and found a stranger there they talked his name was Roger and I think their going to share the house from now on.

Lana’s had a mental break. Astrid is all about her rules and shit like that. Sam’s all over the place still having nightmares getting less and less sleep his light still dimmed. I don’t think we’ll ever get our Sam back

Sam was thinking about Astrid and her want for laws and what had happened with Orsay when he found Jill in a hole. Which could mean one of two things either Zil was planning on burying her alive or Brittaney climbed/clawed her way out of her grave. because for some reason she isn’t really dead?

Everything has gone back somewhat normal. Orsay started a colt and told Sam his mother said “to let them going” - as if the step out was the right way to go and they still haven’t figured out if u go back to the real world when u “step out” as they like to call it.

I forgot how tense the emergency town meeting was.

I remember why this is my favorite in the series. I don't feel so overwhelmed by the multiple plots happening because they are so fine tuned now and don't drag out so long. I faintly remembered the Prophet plot and now I fully remember how eerie it is and its soooo good.
