Status Updates From It Happens in the Hamptons

I’m 2/3 of the way through and I have no idea what this book is about. I keep waiting for something to happen but it never does. Just long filler sentences name dropping expensive luxury goods, complete with the price tag and full description about this random handbag. We get it; the people are rich and they own nice things. If you took out each of those se fences this book would be 100 pages shorter.

The description of a 16 year old girls body and sexual escapades is disgusting. Why is that part of the hook?

100 pages in and I’m so confused. The actual writing is pretty bad. I’ve seen other reviewers mention needing to reread sentences to figure out what’s being said. This book reads like it was written by a 10th grader who was trying to sound smart.
