it’s like i can’t tell whether the book is supposed to be based into fantasy or not. huh.

Part 2-
who is this mysterious fella

chapter 13- I KNEW HE WAS GOING TO STEAL ANGELA’S STORY also this is so meta, a story about a guy who writes a story stolen from another girl writing a story

end of part 1- it’s gotta be conrad right? like he just started tweaking because of his career or lack thereof… mmm

mid chapter thoughts:
angela’s the little girl and she doesn’t have anything new written because that’s where her story ended with the foster family
william being the sandman feels too easy…it’s gotta be someone else from the circle…len, maybe? but i like len :( maybe conad’s just lost a few marbles
patrick isn’t hallucinating 🙏🏻

Chapter 11-
imagine crashing out because you’re an overworked single dad and your boss fires u lol

what’s interesting is i’m never sure if he’s telling a story of his own or simply narrating his life & experience. Maybe the line between the two is so thin it blurs.

Just finished chapter 4, man William…you are an odd fella

Just finished chapter 1 (+ prologue). I love the book so far! I can really imagine what’s being described, which always makes a read quite fun. For some reason my attention span is really short today so I’ll stop here and continue later.

At this point the pages say more about the author than the story at this point. He describes the Conrad White character and his book Jarvis & Wellesley much the same way. . .maybe that's his point, and is intentional.

It's laid on very thick #thisisCanada, with a layer of "moody broody artsy single man". I'll have to see how it develops though. . .as being only 40 pages in still leaves a lot left to go.
