Status Updates From The Black Moon (Poldark #5)

Caroline Dwight’s fiancee received a letter from him about what had happened and where he is now. She is excited to get him home, but Ross is (I would say) nervous and doubtful about him coming home well etc. Yes, the war is still happening with the French. But it won’t last forever.

George just had the ball where he wanted Morwenna to meet these men. One of which is a Reverend.

Drake likes Morwenna and he kissed her a couple of chapters ago. Also Ross and Demelza now know from Sam about Drake’s whereabouts. Aka Truro.

George wants Morwenna married off to a widower who has money or a young lad who has like a title and money. Elizabeth doesn’t like it because Morwenna is entitled to happiness. She is also 18 years old and governess to Elizabeth and Francis’ child.

Dwight Enys is alive and prisoner of war.

I am on book two now out of three.

Ross is currently at Roscoff to seek out information about Enys through a spy: Clisson. He wants to know if he is alive and in which prison if at all because of the current war with France.

Another new character has been introduced. Tholly Tregirls and he is Ross’ father’s friend. He saw Ross at a market and sold him a horse that wasn’t 3 years old but much older. He is also disliked by men’s wives because he wants to “scoop” them up.

In the book, 3 new characters have been introduced. Sam and Drake who are Demelza’s brothers and Morwenna. Morwenna is the governess of the Warleggans.
