Epilogue: This was a most excellent epilogue. It was delightful as it told who, what, when, where, and why...everything we wanted to know. Well, almost everything. I loved it.

While attending Georgiana's come out ball, Caroline Bingley and Louisa Hurst were overheard plotting the ruination of Elizabeth Bennet by none other than Brummell himself. Oh, what a character. He proceeded to call over his top circle friends and demanded an introduction to this paragon they were discussing. Caroline always wanted to be helpful. Hilarious!!

Ch 12 has Darcy contemplating the numerous walls around his heart. I agonized with him as he listed each in depth and struggled with his feelings and affections for the one woman he could not possibly have. I've never seen it explained in such detail. My modern sensibilities refused to accept it and yet as I tried to think of that time period...it was perfectly logical. It broke my heart.

Elizabeth and Georgiana spend time with Lady Catherine. Oh dear! They survive the visit and head for a rest at the seaside at Brighton. Oh my!! There they meet Colonel Fitzwilliam's older brother and... wait for it... Wickham... NO!!!

It was a long struggle to get Elizabeth as her companion and Georgiana was determined. She flatly refused Mrs. Younge as she felt she was too sly and she didn't trust her. Thus our road takes another turn from canon. By chapter 6 the Bingleys and Hursts arrive at Pemberley and it-is-on. Caroline does all she can to put Elizabeth in her place and Darcy observes each and every slight. He is not best pleased.

The first part of this story is hilarious... unconscionably so, as we learn of the demise of Mr. Bennet. The mode of his passing was so appropriate, I think he would approve. Elizabeth was just shy of being a blue-stocking and perfect for a governess or companion. At 15% I ran into the name Bangles... I assumed it was intended to be Bingley. Yes, there are a few errors.
