One of the serial's weirder conceits - one that the Hammer film adaptation dropped altogether - is that poor Carroon isn't a human being possessed, but a sort of ghastly amalgam of all three astronauts, assembled by the mysterious Energy Being™ that invaded the rocket from their liquefied remains.
