I have found some of Sylvester’s wording interesting and a little to forward for my taste. He often says in the book “I command you to...” and follows it up with a task or practice. Although most of his tasks are helpful the word “command” gives a strong statement where I would rather him say “I encourage you to...”

As he transitions from communication to listening he introduces the power observing and listening. He mentions that relationships are not a class in school something we learn but rather have to learn on our our through trial and error. However, I think a lot of things can be learned without trail but rather through observing. Some things need to be experienced but some can be observed.

McNutt explains how you should put the relationship before everything else, which I don’t agree with. I believe that a relationship is two individual people who have agreed to come together. However, this does not mean that we should change our lifestyles and habits when entering into a relationship. He’s point of view on trust explains a lot of why some relationships end or suffer I pain.

This chapter talks about the difference between dating, single life and commitment which I found fascinating for I always found that the term single was used even if you were seeing people but not committed. The difference between the terms and the different types of dating styles provides a lot psychology background useful in understanding yourself and what state you are in right now.

I am very much enjoying this boom so far, the I introduction is very eye catching and I love the message he gives that love can change the world. He references many spiritual enlightenment norms and relates them to the dating world which I very much enjoy but has not yet mention religion which is refreshing for many spiritual books do.
