This isn't particularly gripping me, but there's something going on here and it really shows just how unlike Kyme's usual standard for anything Deathfire is. I just wish I cared more about the Salamanders than I do or that I thought relic logistics were interesting in the least. But it's no bad.

I promise to stop talking about it, but there's more energy in this 15% than the whole of Deathfire. Gareth Armstrong definitely helps.

So far so good, although already getting a sense the story doesn’t, frustratingly, really move the needle in terms of the wider HH narrative (a passing mention of the delivery of Vulkan to Deathfire and the Death Guard being the only tie-in to Deathfire, the novel).

It was fine but it didn’t blow me away. For a novel focusing on Vulcan’s Artefacts it was less exciting than I had hoped. But even still, I enjoyed it for what it was.
