I sense that the middle is particularly tough for thriller writers. They work on their openings, esp the povs in the beginning. They always have clarity regd the end. It is the middle that they have the challenge of making engaging. I believe that nothing of note is ever supposed to happen in the middle.

Written in the 90s. Quaint mentions of 'most advanced' 40 Mb storage machines. The science is torrid, though. And computer hacking description is perfunctory at best.
