I am so glad I didn’t quit this book. Secrets and Farewells is such an important chapter.

I like that Arch has (clearly) never been in love any more than Quincy has. (I’m really just speculating on that, but his glib “all the pain of loss is worth the memory of having had love for a moment” is not how you talk if you’ve actually lost love and is kind of just as naive as Quincy’s closed-off-ness, and I like that balance)

Reminds me a bit of Trenton Lee Stewart. I'm sure my girls would love it. A light read so far if not a little on the nose. A sort of scrouge trope.
