I might just be done. Briar is being unsufferable but more than that, I dislike the way Alex handles it. People talk about triggers and such but what about being triggered by the MC being a doormat? Why does no one warn about that???! That triggers me like nothing else. Her standing up for herself and then going back to accepting the abuse? Giving me hope just to smash it? Wll, *I* won't stand for this.

I cannot say how frustrated this turn of events make me but to give you an idea: I'd be actually happy if Fey McHotAgent kidnapped Alex into Fairy until this mess blows over. I disliked Brian All-Brawn for some time now but she is now competing with the Winter _itch for most unpopular. She's not a modern Witcher, she's like The Order (from KD). That's not a compliment.

Hear me out, ok - I think the author doesn't know how to do this any more than Alex does. Relationship? Light pillow talk? They go to sleep!!! instead of doing literally anything else. Well, Alex goes to sleep but she didn't see him in a week, so after one question, that, btw, low blow, she goes to sleep like normal. He has so little time with her and she "blows it". So, yeah, Price doesn't know what to do with them

Actually, I just thought of another problem this relationship has. A proper urban-fantasy love interest and future spouse is an asset. He must be worthy, powerful enough to keep up with our kick-ass heroine. Death does not qualify, despite all his superpowers. He did save her and helped in ways I don't actually like but mostly, he's dead weight. Pun intended.

I think this is another probem with the romance I didn't consider - there was no romancing. Even now that Alex has chosen, we didn't actually get to see how their relationship came to be so I am not as attached to it. I think he is a good love interest but I don't feel the spark as much as if I actually saw it develop.

Now Alex explained logically why she shouldn't continue with the case and suggested the best course of action - hand it over to the police - when talking with her client. Which makes me think she will end up doing the opposite and going into uncertain danger that already makes her a suspect in several murder cases. Sigh... I am not not okay with her doing that but sometimes, it would be nice to see it.

You know what's your problem, girl? There's an action scene unfolding right before your eyes and you think this is the right moment to explain magical theory and things we already know by now. I am kinda stressed here and you think I want to hear about things YOU ALREADY TOLD ME. Maybe some readers forgot those things. Maybe you should trust your audience more. Either way, this is interrupting my flow! You flow too!
