This series isn’t as strong as her newer series, Bodies of Evidence. But it is still intriguing. The supernatural skills and main character creation are where Roberts shines, not her romances, which are weak and thin. So, with this main character, who is fascinating but also excessively prickly and stuck, I wasn’t as invested. Julie Hall, her other deeply developed MC, is far more complex and compelling.
