While this series is highly entertaining, the FMC Ellie is now in my top three "I hate" female characters. Oh, man. She's TDTL and puts everyone else's lives in danger at the same time. Wonder how many people she's going to get killed? Also, there's no love between her and Vin. Only lust I see. He's still hung up on his dead wife. This book is dark though. Avil is vile.

Forgot to add the kicker. Avil mob boss, and Vin military man fighting over h who looks and acts like Vin's dead wife. Which I'm thinking was killed by Avil who was a childhood friend of Vin but was also obsessed with Vin's wife. So I'm really not convinced of the feelings running throughout. Vin just sees his dead wife in Ellie. I really don't like dead ex plots.

Hmm.... Club whores getting treated better than ol ladies. Don't like it. Open sex right in front of h who's been through rape and torture, and she's totally ok with it. Laughing. Unrealistic. She's become badass all of a sudden, but still TDTL. Doesn't work. I don't care who you think you are. No woman is taking out a man in hand to hand fighting who has experience. Unless she's gotta gun. This book is OTT 😆

So this is all 5 books together in the series, and while it's entertaining it is violent. There's a lot of raping going on. Mob, MC, military all meshed into one. My two biggest gripes though are the characters feelings are unconvincing. The h is TDTL and irritating AF. I hate when that happens. She's been raped, tortured, and yet she's getting the hots for Vin, and blaming pregnancy hormones. Pathetic. I hate that.
