I’m old enough now to see flaws, but… I still love it.

Ouch. I honestly didn't expect this novel to hurt me so much. I mean, sure, I saw some things coming, but still . . .

Okay, don't ask me why-- maybe it's because I haven't read the blurb in a long time-- but I was expecting this to be a romance for some reason. I now think I'm probably going to cry my eyes out at some point... there are just too many vulnerable characters and too many ways to hurt them.

Me: Hey, Dad, can I download some books on your Kindle?
Dad: Depending on the type of book.
Me: Historical Fiction.
Dad: *nods* What war?
Me: WW2.
Dad: Right on! Something I'll like?
Me: Probably.
Dad: Go ahead.
I'm thinking he'll like it. :)
