Status Updates From Shane

This book is certainly dated by some of the things present, but man, is it easy to see why books like this was so popular with men of the time. I’m reading this and all I can think of is boy do I wish I was like Shane. It’s definitely a power fantasy, a guy so strong and self assured that he knows he doesn’t have to do anything. Very different from true grits rooster.

This book is short overall but has a long set up, I almost feel like I’m watching an hour long tv special when I read it, or listening to an audio drama.

Which came first, western books or western shows?

This will have impacts on my robot space western.
