this is already the snarkiest, meta-est main character i’ve ever read about. one hand holds a gun to her head and the other a giant mallet with which she uses to break the fourth wall every sentence. i cant tell if im gonna love her or hate her. either way this is gonna be a long read 😭

Here’s where I started skimming. NGL that subplot romance flopped.

I took a day off due to traveling for my first full Pride festival (which has been really fun, let me tell you). Willa’s starting to understand how Remy’s so compelling, but her vanishing act is a prolepsis of what may be to come. TBD if this becomes a skim depending on how fast the plot moves.

It was in fact my grad town’s Hoppa that had the e audiobook for this (although lacks chapters compared to Frost Like Night). Portes’s biting humor is still working for me, but we’ll see how the plot unfolds given Willa’s already building up to a quasi dramatic end.
