Status Updates From Considerations on France

De Maistre is often associated with fascism, but I don't see this at all. He's profoundly pro intellectual even those who disagree. He seems to think that a bourgeois or petty bourgeois ruler is the most brutal one that can appear. He also seems to completely ignore an idea of a people or a nation of people as an important political subject even one that ultimately cannot speak for itself. obvs still reactionary

An intriguing viewpoint, but one of the most poorly argued texts I've ever read.
