Meyer wrote this book to prove that there would be no difference if Bella was a man and she’s somewhat right. However, she has brought an interesting challenge to other characters and their gender. Edward’s stalker behavior seems creepy. But I interpret Edythe’s as more protective/maternal. But fundamentally they are the same “creepy” behavior. Meyer is making me question my own gender essentialist biases
