I have already written over 2000 words about this book in my notes app. Be prepared for me to start a substack just so I can post an aggressively thorough review of the tourettes representation in this book.

I dont think i can sufficiently express how cool it is to read a book about someone with Tourette's Syndrome, and for the portrayal of it to be so recognisable to me. Lethem does not have Tourettes and I entered this book with a level of fear that it would be a lazy and stereotypical portral of TS but no! The author must have spoken to real people with Tourettes for him to write such a nuanced and grounded portrayal.
