Status Updates From A Midwife's Tale: The Life ...

Really interesting to see what Lawhon took from Martha Ballard's life and how to adapted it to write The Frozen River. I wish she'd incorporated more of the communal transactionary element of society, particularly amongst the women. Fascinating to read the real account of Ballard's life in her own words, vs the reimagined version Lawhon built.

Had to return it to library. Would like to check out again. I really liked it. It's an academic book but SO much wonderful information about the late 18th century and early 19th century.
