Status Updates From Der Spekulant

On one hand, the book reads like a markets experience slash pseudo history. I can confirm the trading scenes and recognize the historical market events (junk bonds and S&L banks). Per this, the novel is a treat. On the other hand, the narrative choices and chapter cuts are weird. Some of the dialogue is just the author's pulpit and not natural to the character. This will probably land in 4* territory.

It's not Bonfire of the Vanities, despite what the blurb says. Nonetheless it does delve into more of the trading floor life, and much like Armageddon Trade it is the first third that is closest to finance. Enjoyable read so far, still.
