Status Updates From Runaway

Holly is clever; she still hasn't been caught for stealing things, although she has had some narrow escapes. "I could hear people shouting, and I think someone chased me" (132). Holly has no plan for where she's going next; she just needs to stay alive and away from anybody who might turn her into social services. In the next part of the book, I think that Holly will find a new home where she can live for good.

Holly is a 12 year old who's mom died when she was little. She decides to run away from her current foster home, and this time, she actually gets away without getting caught. She thought it would be easy at first, but now it has become a daily struggle for survival. "My whole body was sore. I felt hungry and tired and weak, but I kept walking." (42) I think that she will eventually get caught by the police.
