Protagonist: In my book, the protagonist is a kid, Daniel. Daniel is a skinny, blond, and shy boy who has severe OCD. He struggles to make friends but he does have a couple of close friends. On page 76, Daniel says, "Sometimes I thought I didn't want to wake up anyway, and then I got scared and I flicked the switch again." This is a great example of Daniel's severe OCD.

Setting- OCDaniel takes place in modern day America. In the book, people are using cell phones, cars, and modern technology. The Current event in the book is that Daniel is going over to Sara's house for dinner. On page 168, it states: "I was going to dinner at Sara's." This states that Daniel is going over to Sara's house for dinner, and that it is the evening.

“I looked at myself carefully. I focused on my eyes because everyone says they are the window to the soul and I wanted to know if my soul was fixed.”

GENRE: The book OCDaniel is a realistic fiction book. The main character, Daniel, is a 7th grader with OCD. Daniel calls his OCD moments as "Zaps". In the book, Daniel has a friend named Max. They have been friends since their early elementary years. Even so, their friendship seems to be failing due to their differences in the school's social hierarchy. This shows a very realistic setting, so it is realistic fiction.

Week 1 of Good Reads
I found OCDaniel from my classroom library. When I first got it had a cool cover. The name of the book is really creative on the first glance.

“I like words in general. They have established meanings but can vary, depending on how they’re used or who uses them. They’re like people - they’re different depending on who’s looking and how you read them.”
