Status Updates From Avengers Epic Collection, V...

Captain America #401-
Cap America wants to step down as Avengers leader!
Of course no one voted for that.

Clint (by suggestion of Nat) takes Steve out to get him out of his funk.
He suggests a leave of absence.

Tony shows up and wants to clear the air. Which the old friends do.

D-Man is back! But whatever happened to Dennis has left him traumatised...

Crossbones has taken Rachel to the fallout shelter…

Avengers #347 -
98% of the Kree population perished but all the Avengers somehow survived...

Supreme Intelligence boasts to Cap America and Deathbird this was all due to his planning and manipulations.

Half the Avengers ensures that this artificial life never does this again…

Cap agrees with Lilandra; things will never be the same again.

Was his ‘death’ another part of the Supremist Intelligence’s plan??

Wonder Man V2 #9 -
Vision attacks Simon, because logic dictates that a threat - the Kree - to Earth must be neutralised.

Simon will not justify genocide.

After seeing the heart of the bomb, a portal to the Negative Zone, Vizh concedes he’s not the best person to make this kind of decision.

Though, as Skrulls pour in to stop the heroes, it's seemingly too late…

The energy leaks out… The Nega-bomb explodes!

Quasar #34 -
Not sure why Quasar was wearing those Cyclops looking sunnies...
Besides the fact that he spent a lot of the time in this ish near the sun.

Anyway, with the combined might and intelligence of Epoch, Quasar and Binary, the sun is saved!

Though, the Nega-bomb had passed through the Stargate into the Kree galaxy!

Avengers West Coast #82 -
You’d think Eric, after so much trouble, has learned to keep his mouth shut.

But his words see another fight ensues between his team and the Imperial Guard.

This time though, it leads to something useful... The reveal that Arakii is a Skrull!

Ultimas agrees to send a message to his Kree leader.

The Nega-bomb is going through the stargate!
But Quasar knows where it is…

Captain America #400 -
Thank GOODness this only had the first story. I would’ve cried if I had to read all 80 pages.

I think the way this story was handled was really good.

It was basically just a brawl between Cap and his worst villains - which ties into the celebration issue.

But it was all due to the Supreme Intelligence’s manipulations.
Which had been a previously established technique!

Thor #446 -
Once again, Eric’s temper flares and he ruins the Avenger’s audience with Lilandra.

After, Starforce teleports in and fights with the Imperial Guard!

The Avengers feel compelled to help the Shi’ar, for their side to be heard.

Working together sees the Starforce defeated.

Inspired by his bravery and courage, Lilandra tells Star Fox that she will recall the Nega-bomb!

But is it too late??...

Iron Man #279 -
I enjoy seeing the info from the suit!
Though, a lot of the time, it’s telling him his life support function is critically damaged…

Anyway, Goliath threatens Deathbird to tell the Kree authorities the truth.

But first they release most of the other Avengers.
Too bad the once Magestrix gave Clint the slip.

Iron Man was going to sacrifice himself. His teammates saved him from that.

Avengers #346 -
Supreme Intelligence’s plan comes to fruition as his Starforce battles the Avengers.

Before Deathbird makes herself known… By killing the current Kree rulers!

The Supreme resumes control of the Empire, proclaiming that the Kree people will have their revenge against the Shi’ar.

If only they knew he wanted the death of his empire…What??

Wonder Man V2 #8 -
This seemed long for what was actually going on.

Simon takes to stopping the Nega-bomb personally, dragging Vision with him.

The teammates have a heart-to-heart. At least Simon tries to. Vizh wonders why he can’t just shut down his ‘passionate responses’.

Finally convincing the Starjammers to not do Lilandra’s bidding sees Simon and Vizh abandoned on the Nega-bomb, drifting in space!

Quasar #33 -
Quasar has Her continue to guard the stargate as he follows the Shi’ar ship.

After drilling into the giant ship, Quasar is met with the Imperial Guard.

They’ve already shipped off the Nega-bands.

Q follows Epoch’s info and is met with Binary. And more Imperial Guard!

As he is teleported to some unknown space, we learn what exactly Lilandra intends to do with the power of the Nega-bands!

Avengers West Coast #81 -
USAgent being his charming self gets his butt handed to him when he messes with Bobbi.

Nightside and Scintilla free the Shi’ar prisoners!

And ‘inadvertently’ free the Kree prisoners as well.

But that was only a ploy so the Shi’ar Imperial Guard could get their hands on the Nega-bands!

The Shi’ar Star Cruiser gets away as two of the Guard meet with Quasar and Her in space…

Captain America #399 -
The Avengers are on Hala and are met with Ronan the Accuser.

It’s funny, a simple change in clothes fooled the great Accuser.

Iron Man didn’t appreciate his suit being messed with and decided to split from the team. Clint goes with him.

Cap America risks his life taking down Korath the Pursuer but still worries about Iron Man getting into trouble.

Thor #445 -
The Avengers see a Kree star fighter attacking a small Shi’ar planet.
Which the planet's defences crash.

But when Cap Marvel investigates, she sees a Skrull??

Gladiator thinks the Avengers are Kree imposters and fights both Simon and Thor.

There was a lot of Eric-bashing in this. Even by Eric himself.

But he tried to prove himself too hard and closed the Avengers escape route!

Iron Man #278 -
The Avengers tasked as the Kree embassy, find a giant space station.

Cap America lands their Quinjet, but no one greets them. In fact, the whole ship is empty.

That is before the Shi’ar Commandos arrive!

Iron Man hacks into the system as the others fight.

I like seeing screens the suit shows Tony.

IM sees the Kree’s warning and goes off on his own. And surrenders to the soldiers!

Avengers #345 -
Quasar tracks and saves the scientists from Starcore.

Right as a Shi’ar armada warps in!
And who don’t want any witnesses to their travels. So they attack the Avengers!

It works in the team's favour this time.

Cap America cautions his teammates from going down a ‘muddy’ path.

Then he splits the heroes into three groups; an embassy for both the Kree and Shi’ar and a rear guard for Earth.

Wonder Man V2 #7 -
This was basically just a fight issue between Simon and Captain Atlas.

It was cool seeing Atlas figuring how the Nega-Bands work and using that to beat up the hero.

But it was also cool to see Simon figure out his foe's timing and land a solid punch.

Even though Rick was mad at Simon, he did appreciate that he did his best.

A solar flare is heading right for Starcore!

Quasar #32 -
Firstly, why have they drawn Quasar like he's a teen heart throb?? It's so unsettling.

Then poor Mar-Vell's resting place is disturbed because Captain Atlas and Dr Minera are after his Nega-Bands.

Apparently, the Shi'ar were after them as well!

Atlas puts them on and swaps places with Rick. And he begins to suffocate!

Avengers West Coast #80 -
I liked that beginning with the training session.

Cap calls for help, so he and the AWC follow the Shi'ar to a Kree outpost.

They wake an old Sentry…

As the heroes fight the robot, the Shi’ar troops leave with what they came for; a piece from the Psyche-Magnetron.

Leading into the next issue in this story, Cap calls Quasar.

But he couldn’t get through the hole in space…

Captain America #398 -
Rick dreams of the Kree homeworld and of Cap.

They meet and a giant green robot tries to nab the young man!

Luckily, Cap is persistent and gets Rick away from the action… Unfortunately, he is still captured.

The Supreme Intelligence imparts an old mechanoid with a part of his life-force, as his ‘physical repository’.

There is something brewing…
