Terrific

The parting shot, addressing the next generation of potential explorers and scientists, was a really thoughtful way to end the topic.

The crank timekeeping system proposal about the wounded dog and the "healing powder" was pretty funny, even in light of the dire consequences of the initial problem (ships losing their way and crashing, or voyages taking too long and the crews dying terrible deaths from scurvy).

The forward is written by Neil Armstrong. That's quite a way to start!
