I guess it’s easy to romanticise brutalist architecture if you’ve never lived in a high-rise? Sure, they look interesting in a grim concrete sort of way but the real tragedy of these buildings being demolished is that you just know it’s only happening in order to price working class people out of major cities. This book sort of mentions that in passing but I don’t think it’s going to be a major theme.
