This initial plot reveal feels both predictable and so incredibly nonsensical. It doesn’t help that this book is apparently #12 in a cozy series and I have almost no background info on who they are. Nell is okay. Cass is still annoying, as is Sam when he pops up on page.

Cass is so unpleasant to read. I think she’s supposed to come across as independent and modern, but instead she seems bullheaded and overly self-contradictory, especially where feelings come up. I guess that’s par for the course in the mid 2010s when so many young women were encouraged to rebrand themselves as GIRLBOSS.

Murder Wears Mittens (Seaside Knitters Mystery, #1)

Sarah Curry is 55% done

55% through right now. I like the characters and the mystery but it is a pretty slow burn so far. I’m hoping it picks up a bit soon. As a knitter, I definitely enjoy the specific knitting references and yarn descriptions.
