Status Updates From After You Were Gone

I'm so happy these two got their happy ending :) they deserve it after all they went through. Everyone was trying to break them apart, yet they kept fighting. Well-deserved HEA.

I might be way off here, but I think the person harassing Julianne is Cade. It's obviously not Mitchell and his brothers would be too obvious. Cade's "crush" is starting to feel more like an obsession. Maybe he somehow found out about Julianne & Mitchell's past relationship and wanted to take out the competition, so he's trying to frame him. Or maybe it's her dead husband. Who knows.

I'm not sure what possessed me to start a second book by Alexis Harrington after my awful experience with Desperate Hearts, but here I am. I think I didn't realize the author was the same person until I'd already purchased it.

Anyway, I've barely started and already all of the characters feel like absurd, stereotyped caricatures of poor country folk. Way too many stereotypical phrases, etc. Feels very forced.
