Status Updates From Ordinary Beast: Poems

I started inhaling this book, and then “virginia is for lovers” made me feel like I ran face-first into a concrete wall covered in a beautiful mural & I decided if I wanted to do anything with my day other than read this collection & then stare off into space about it, I needed to put the book down

not really sure how to feel about this thus far; not my favorite but some really nice sections. the quotes from Paris is burning are fun and great.
I sense the second half will be better

“I didn’t hold myself back. I gave in completely and went

all the way to the vague influence of the distant stars.

I saw something like an angel

spread across the horizon like some dreadful prophecy

refusing to be contained, to accept limits.

She said, “Are you sure you know what you’re doing?”

“Can you smell them burning?”
