Status Updates From Lincoln in the Bardo

Oooof. Despite tackling as audiobook, this was rough. I feel like I’m supposed to acknowledge the author’s brilliance, unique narrative structure, and the 160+ voices brought to life by an A-list cast, but a lot of gallows humor, unlikeable characters, confusing mythical storytelling blended with museum-like contradictory historical reflections. Points for creativity, but not enjoyable. Needs English-Lit seminar
