Really not jiving with this so far.

There is no GPS or roadmap for the life of faith showing us exactly where we’re headed and when we’re going to get there— but the Word of God is there to teach us the principles of navigation.

We all know that church is hard sometimes, and that people can be really hurtful. But that’s not really a license for destructive behaviour. We’ve got to do our best not to become bitter. We’ve got to take steps to work out our frustrations in healthy ways. Don’t become toxic— nobody wants to be the damp firewood.

We need to stop thinking of the gospel as an insurance policy against getting hurt and rather as a license to dream big and risk big for the Kingdom, in the assurance that if it all “goes wrong”, grace will pick us up, dust us off and throw us right back into the action.

Our testimonies, however dark, are powerful weapons of light.

Reverence opens our eyes to gain a fuller vision of the God who deserves to be revered.

The unique thing about the church is that it’s the only organisation that exists primarily for the benefit of its NON members.

A “career” in worship or any other ministry starts and ends with sacrificial, inconvenient, unglamorous service.

True worship is just bringing a real response to the real God. Authenticity isn’t about a style of worship— it’s a state of the heart.

A return to being fully present when we’re with others— awake, aware, and alive to the divine spark inside every one of us.

Jesus doesn’t think worship is complicated. For Him it can be summed up in a few words. Worship from the deepest part of yourself and be real about it. Be soulful and honest. Who are we to try to make it more complex?
