I am so glad I stuck to finishing 'Redeem' because it ending with Ciprian and new beginnings!

Ciprian tells his story to Dana but I AM discovering so much more about him as a flawed man. Those beastly fights in the previous book, 'Fight' were all based on his past but Dana being the woman that she is feeling somewhat guilty for still loving Ciprian while also ...

'In an instant, the joy that had filled me for those few tantalizing seconds died.'

Yes, Ciprian has a heart now but remember in 'Fight' he was emotionless until the very end.

Now a year later with somewhat of a heavy heart, he has strong emotions for Dana.... and he is 'wrestling' with himself on if he should tell her his sin against her now or later ....well

“I’m exactly what you see,” I said. ...


besides that big ole' omission of....

Though the question was softly worded, vague, I felt something akin to panic. Dana seemed to have a sense about me, seemed able to see beyond the facade I worked so hard to present. I thought I wanted that, but there was something about her ability to see beyond the surface that both intrigued me and scared me.

Went back and reread "Fight" and now I see the true humanity of Ciprian. He has come along way from book six - from a beast of a fighter to a day laborer helping Dana fix her home. He came back to her to apology but he never expected to care for her.

Both are two broken souls until they found each other. Now they can't seem to live without the other although they both are carrying hurt and secrets...

Ciprian has really changed because

" I hadn’t been able to allow her to kiss me, hadn’t been able to allow myself to kiss her back. The truth that I still hadn’t shared kept me from doing so. I’d taken so much from Dana. I wouldn’t further that crime, much as my body may have wanted me to."

"I wished. This would be so much easier if I did. I didn’t have the right to ask for easy, certainly didn’t deserve it, but so far, my resolve was proving no match for Dana. She was so perplexing, intriguing, far more than I’d ever contemplated. And far more broken. I wanted to fix that, try to repair the holes I knew I’d helped create. Knew that doing so might not be possible, that trying would only make it worse".

"I kept replaying those words in my head for the entire ride back to the hardware store.

this inner musing is find and dandy but hey Ciprian and Dana will you all talk to one another already!

It's a year later and Ciprian is in search of the woman with the sad eyes he hurt some 10 years ago... and he finds her. Her name is Dana. We discover he took something away from her but when he meets her and looks into her sad eyes, he helps her with a difficult job without apologizing.... huh
