After a long preparation, the research ship arrives in the islands, a few non eventful dives, then a strange dream, a jellyfish that can't be identified and a warning from a school of dolphins of an ominous presence.

The research ship has left shore, Ellen still acting awkward around Ryan, more comfortable around Michael who challenges her to prove that man has influenced global warming. Slow build up.

Ellen is a marine researcher, her passionjellyfish. After a disappointing betrayal, she immerses in her subject, less involved in the human world around her. About to embark on perhaps her last research trip, with her assistant Ryan, who is becoming disenchanted with his after work lifestyle. Meanwhile a man goes out fishing and doesn't come back, a freak wave, a soliton?? Mystery in a secondary narrative.

Looking forward to wherever this will take me, into the depths, already remembering that jellyfish sting that stayed with me a year.
