Status Updates From The Lyssa Syndrome

This chapter should be titled "Epilogue". Unsatisfying epilogue at that. How far into the future is this taking place? What happened between the last chapter and this one? It ties up too quickly, more is needed to satisfy the reader.

"She'd thought of...catching a plane, but airport security scared her. They'd spot her for sure." Bwah HA!!! They couldn't find their behind if you pointed it out to them! Well, maybe they were a force to be reckoned with back in the day. Now, they make you take off your shoes and take your hand lotion...

"...wiped at her eyes with gloved fingers..." Noooo!!! For the love of God and all that's Holy!!! Why do you think you have gloves ON for, to turn on people with a latex fetish?!? No you dumb, dumb character, it's to not get the germs IN you. Any germs on gloves, NOW IN EYES!!! I just can't.

This book is flying by fast. Good read, excellent characterization, even with the minor characters. Slightly dated, but you can barely tell. Surprisingly good!

Dumb @ss kids. They deserve it.

Ok, if those people had been more careful with their pets and didn't let them out to roam, this wouldn't be an issue now.

Awwww... I hate how this author introduces a character, humanizes them and them BAM! They're bitten! Insta-death! You actually CARE about the characters, except the cheating ones and the couple of jerks, but the good people are the ones you feel sorry about getting bitten.

Ugh, the NRA member in this book is an anti-Semite. Can we have some NRA members who aren't whack jobs please? A little balance? Lots of political and economic division in this book. Definitely interesting.

This book sure is ambitious. The other doctor has a coke habit. Lots of sub-plots. I hope the author can keep them all in order and tie them together at the end. I like it when the sub-plots all tie together well.

I wonder if the doctor is going to get sick now... SPOILER!!! Stupid that the doctor's wife's lover was bitten by a cat and didn't go to the hospital. And ironic that they didn't tell the public about the other ways its transmitted. Oh the irony!!

I honestly thought I would DNF this, just because its an older book and I thought it would be too dated to sustain my interest. It also has blurbs from Stephen King all over it, so I figured it had to be pretty terrible, but I'm really enjoying it. It's starting to pick up.

Really? Biological weapon? Biological weapons are a BAD idea. Unless you can vaccinate all of the people you feel are necessary to survive, before you release the weapon, you can fall prey to your own weapon. Unless you don't care if you die or not. Then it makes sense.
