Nope. Can't do this. The b- I mean, woman, is being too bloody unreasonable. I'm gonna go pretend that after he told her she was an idiot if she truly thought he was going to marry her niece and stormed out and found someone nicer. I get issues, I really do. But there's scared and there's obtuse bordering on cruel imo

Ok. So I get it. Bad first marriage. It was all her fault. Even her husbands' cheating. All of it. She has issues. But the way she went from "you are so perfect for my niece" to "shut up and do me!" back to "oh no, but you're going to marry my niece!" is unfair towards the poor besotted fool.

A bit syrupy at the end, but still good because Charles was so honorable and sexy. Sally almost missed out which was ridiculous! Full review to come.

I am flying through this...the hero is dreamy but wow, this heroine can't see opportunity even when it has literally pounced on her!

A scarlet dress for a scarlet woman... I chuckle to think what a person from then would think of clothes now. The ladies would faint and the gentlemen would bluster.
