this chapter was actually interesting, the chase day one

skimmed a few chaps and skipped even more

more boring chapters that don’t serve the plot in any way, skipped two of them which were gonna be exactly the same as the first one down to the damned title

got better, chap 47-50 were good

just finished chap 42 where he yapped about white things and got racist

ahab went crazy on the ship after his leg was bitten off by the whale to the point where he was put in a straight jacket

chapter forty was written like a play script for some reason. anyway, finally starting a chapter called moby dick; hopefully i’ll read about the bloody whale 200 pages in.

big chapter literally called cetology that just describes some whales

Captain’s Peleg and Bildad saw the ship to the open ocean and then took a smaller boat back to shore. They were reluctant to leave and pretty emotional which feels like foreshadowing lol

queequeg and ishmael definitely have a bit of a homoerotic thing going on. in chapter 12, they stayed up most of the night talking then pressed their foreheads together and fell asleep in each others arms. they are extremely close and they’ve known each other for like two days.
