brought on not by something in this book but by dropping another one -- cherryh has such excellent worldbuilding that i feel like it is changing how i feel about worldbuilding as a concept. i encounter lazy or sloppy worldbuilding and i have less patience for than before because i see what it looks like when somebody consistently thinks all the way through worldbuilding in such a satisfying way

A bit more of a slow burn but all around good. Something tells me the renegade Guild will still be a problem, but I guess an issue for a later date. The politicking is great, it seems to coincide well with my own TTRPG which has a lot of politics going on right now. But I’m taking another short break to read some local author books. So that’ll be fun

Guess the renegade Guild is finally being dealt with. All thanks to Lucasi. Kind of funny, actually. Cajeiri almost dying was not fun, but it turned out alright.

I like Machigi. He’s a snake, but hot. Bye. Regardless, I can see why Ilisidi sees potential in him, he is young and ruthless, but still mutable to reason. All good qualities in a leader. Still I wonder how Tabini will take all this politicking

So far, its just mounting tension, wondering what Machigi is going to pull. Nothing good, I’m sure
