The early letters from Tushratta, King of Mitanni, to Amenhotep III are amusing me. He goes on and on about their epic kingly bromance and then finishes up saying something like, "if you don't send me LOTS of gold, I'll know you don't really love me. D: So send me gold, and lots of it."
