Status Updates From Príbehy vášho života

I’m really only reading this book for its title story, which is the story I’m reading through now. I find it interesting that the heptapods aren’t actually in the probe ships on earth, which is different from the movie. The movie makes it feel more like a genuine first contact rather than a first contact through recorded messages. Although, I still love how the story is progressing.

2.5 stars, because it’s a great piece of work but not my preferred reading. Story of your Life, Hell is the Absence of God, and Liking What You See are career highlights. Imaginative while rooted in human emotions and nuance.

"Tower of Babylon" - 5 stars - told like an ancient myth, a fascinating take on the Biblival story.
