This writer got drunk a lot, then that writer, and bpnicholl thought of something that is still considered important (why?), then a writer refused an award or was arrested or moved to another country, another got drunk, and a bunch of writers who knew each other won the same prize and celebrated by getting drunk...

Wanted to give this one a reread after I mentioned it in the #hasstevereaditchallenge . I’m still very satisfied with how funny, interesting and genuinely exciting Mount presents these stories of the individual authors who launched a literary movement in the face of British and American literary cultural imperialism.
