Highlights:
"In the Land of Superstition" - An excellent Halloween-y poem.
"An Evolution of Prayer" - A relatable reflection on introspection, faith, religious practices, and their intersections.
"Emergings"
In Part I, Dunn is on a Darwinian wavelength. The ideas fo survival, evolution, and nature (animals abound) recur throughout the first 12 poems. I will read on to see if they continue to show up in this book.

"I praise the strangeness, the immensity, of what I have / and have had and every small thing that against the odds continues to be." - From "A Card from Me to Me"
"A good sentence needs / a clause or two, interruptions, set off by commas, / evidence of a slowing down, a rethinking." - From "Propositions"
So far, the theme coursing through has to with truth and survival.
