each story surprises and entertains in a different way; this book sort of looks like it might be be a dated and stuffy slog, but it's not at all. This woman must have been borderline insane to come up with all these stories and details in her imagination.

this one's a keeper; the stories, especially the ghost stories, are great. Thought she would be stuffy and too dry for my taste, but it's good stuff.

Think I'm getting into this; will at least explore some of her short stories. As writers go, she was certainly the real deal and churned out a lot of work (must've been an amazingly disciplined lady!)
