Status Updates From Honey, Baby, Sweetheart

POINT OF VIEW: My book is written in the 1st person narrator. I know this because in the text, it is the main character, Ruby McQueen, telling the story. "I blushed, though with my face already red from heat, he might not have even noticed." (Pg.117) This quote shows the point of view because if it wasn't the first person, it would've said she blushed, or her face instead of my. In addition, this book was not good.

VISUALIZE: A scene that I could really visualize was when Harold, Chip Jr., Ruby, and her mom were riding a roller coaster. "the Mine of Terror that clambered and shuddered up high hills and zipped you down with stomach-lurching intensity, only to rocket you back up and onto a slide-riding curve." (Pg.257) This scene made me hear the sounds of people screaming, and it made me feel my stomach was actually dropping.

PREDICTIONS: I predict that Ruby is going to realize that she is not feeling love, but only need for Travis Becker. This is because to me, it doesn't make sense that Ruby is feeling pain and calling it love. "feel this wrenching hole in my stomach and heart and call it love." (Pg.142) This shows that Ruby is needing, and not loving because I feel like the hole is only needing herself to be fearless like Travis.

So far I am confused about this book. She talks about Travis Becker but does not explain how she gets to the points where she is with him. I'm not sure about this book and I'm a little lost. There is also when she talks about her mother and the lingering feelings she has which I understand.
