Status Updates From Dark Desires

Story 21 was about a water polo player trying to get revenge on the girl who humiliated him when he was 18. I don't like revenge plots and I don't understand water polo or the French education system, so this one was a miss for me. Story 22 was just chock full of low-key white supremacy and characters I honestly despised.

Story 19 was a pretty forgettable bodyguard thing with terrible mental health representation. Story 20 was just a garbage fire honestly

Story 17 is only half a story, which I find very frustrating. Story 18 was pretty meh. I didn't really like the characters much, and the story was OTT, but at least it had an ending.

Story 15 was some sort of MMA deathmatch thing, and it was pretty much a cliched romance story with a poor, misunderstood heroine who doesn't stand up for herself until she meets our hero, who is dark and brooding. Story 16 was short and dealt with going back to a small town and it doesn't happy ending so much a happy for now ending, which I didn't actually mind.

Story 13 is your cliched biker story that totally glosses over the violence happening in the story as it happens. Near as I can tell, story 14 was just an excuse to write mental illness exceedingly badly and add in Rome torture porn

Story 11 is only the first half of an arc, which I didn't enjoy finding out at all. Story 12 is full of casual misogyny but not much else stood out to me

Absolutely loathed story 9. It was hard to follow, poorly written, poorly conceptualized, and just generally awful. 10 was okay but pretty forgettable.

Stories 7 and 8 were forgettable but not objectionable

The fifth story was bland and extremely formulaic. The sixth story was a little bit strange for me in that the pacing was uneven, and the characters didn't seem to like each other all that much.

I just finished Ashes to Ashes. I was enjoying the story, but if I had known that it was going to end on a BS cliffhanger with no way to find out what the hell happened until October I never would have read the story.

So far most of the stories are pretty good. There have been two that I just couldn't finish. The first one that I didn't finish, I spent a week trying to read it and made it to chapter 4 before I gave up and moved on to the next story. The story that I just finished, Jolt by Charlotte Casey, was excellent. I will be checking out her other works to see what else of her's I can read.

The third story was riddled with errors and changing names, and the fourth was based on infidelity, which I hate as a trope to finding true love, and I skimmed it and basically hated it.
