Status Updates From Saint Falls

On Booktube there was this "5 stars predictions" TAG, where you show books you haven't read yet, but think you will find them amazing. Altough I had a special purchasing experience with this book (selfpublishing project, the idea gave me Fables/The Wolf Among Us vibes, I love this noir style and neon light font on the covers), I somehow knew the book itself will not blow me away. Turns out I was right, but that's ok.

The second story was "Road Race" (Straßenrennen) which is the one you can read in the excerpt (Leseprobe). I can remember I was a bit unsure when I saw that it starts right off with insulting and harsh language. However it fits to the setting and I liked that story. It was even touching to see the weird relationship/friendship between the Hare and the hedgehog (maybe you now the fable as "The Tortoise and the Hare").

I was browsing through my ebook collection & couldn't make my mind up. I didn't want to get started with too serious literature & decided to finally start with Saint Falls. It's a short story collection where all stories together create a bigger picture. They are set in Saint Falls, a city inhabited by fairy tale characters & a good bunch of corruption. Reminded me a bit on Fables/The Wolf Among Us. Let's see.
