Holy waffle. Holy no regard for other people’s time. Thoreau would maybe be a cool guy but I really dont think he needs to use this many words to get pretty simple concepts across

Really trying to decide if I am going to try to slog through this book. I can tell that Thoreau takes 1000 words to say what could be said in 100. :) He seems quite harsh in some of his assessments, but I think there are a lot of ironies and contradictions in them nonetheless. From reading other reviews, others have found this to be true, as well. I find myself presenting in my head the biblical counter as I read.
