officially dnf-ing this book because i love myself and reading this is the equivalent to the pear of anguish

call me crazy and out of line but i feel like there's gonna be an upcoming side plot where Priest is gonna have a fling with either jessica or georgie. also WHYYYYYY does every. fucking. male lead in a detective fiction have to be "ugh im such a lone wolf" while also "ugh that blonde is so hot i need to bang a red head man" ITS ICKYYYYY

also already encountering an ick i have with detective fiction: when a character checks something and doesn't find anything but another character insists on checking once again and voila they found something!

ok either this man has a really long neck and a contortionist or i just have really poor reading comprehension skills bcs how did you pull out a lighter out of your shirt pocket while your hands and legs are bound...
